Straw Girl Release: June 10, 2025!
Straw Girl
It's less than 30 days until Straw Girl, and I couldn't be more excited! I've been contacting local libraries (and a small business) about potential author events. I also donated a swag bag to one of the libraries to raffle.
Straw Girl is based on my very real experiences in two haunted houses located in Southern Maine. I lived in the second house and had several paranormal teams investigate. After many years, I'd more or less forgotten about it until I ran across the investigation files on my computer, along with a diary entry about the first house. I took a lot of time transcribing all the EVPS (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and wrote the book around these materials. While Mel, her friends, and a lot of her circumstances are fictional, almost every spiritual encounter she has is firmly rooted in reality.
It's been described as a slow burn creep, and many advance readers experienced the unsettling chill and the need to make sure everything is as it should be while reading.
A sequel to Straw Girl, Inside the Box, is in the beginning of the drafting stages. Mel has to conquer the past that haunts her, both in her life and from beyond the grave.
