How A.G. Howard rates books on GoodReads:

"I only rate or review books I enjoyed reading, and won't give any rating below 4 stars. Please don't consider every high rating a personal endorsement / recommendation from me. My ratings here are subjective to me as an individual.

I don't rate books solely on style. Every writer's voice is individual and unique; I've come to respect this truth during my own personal journey. As long as a story take

The title of the antho is Slasher Girls and Monster Boys (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...), and the stories are inspired by horror films, both classical and modern. There are tons of wonderful authors contributing, including but not limited to Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, and Carrie Ryan.

I’m also editing a women's historical fiction with paranormal elements that my agent and I plan to submit to publishers sometime this year in hopes of finding a home for it. You can find out information about that book here: http://authoraghoward.blogspot.com/20...

“Raising one hand, he tilts his hat to that sexy slant. "You want me. Admit it."
Even if he's partly right, I'll never tell him. "Why would I want you?"
He lifts three fingers to countdown. "Mysterious. Rebellious. Troubled. All those qualities women find irresistible."

Stolen A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher
Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher
Book synopsis: It happened like this. I was stolen from an airport. Taken from everything I knew, everything I was used to. Taken to sand and heat, dirt and danger. And he expected me to love him.

This is my story.

A letter from nowhere.

Sixteen year old Gemma is kidnapped from Bangkok airport and taken to the Australian Outback. This wild and desolate landscape becomes almost a character in the book, so vividly is it described. Ty, her captor, is no stereotype. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. He loves only her, wants only her. Under the hot glare of the Australian sun, cut off from the world outside, can the force of his love make Gemma love him back?

The story takes the form of a letter, written by Gemma to Ty, reflecting on those strange and disturbing months in the outback. Months when the lines between love and obsession, and love and dependency, blur until they don't exist - almost.

Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.

Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.

The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis
The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis
Book synopsis: Anna and Abel couldn’t be more different. Fascinated, Anna follows the two and listens as Abel tells little Micha the story of a tiny queen assailed by dark forces. It’s a beautiful fairy tale that Anna comes to see has a basis in reality. Splintered by A.G. Howard
Splintered by A.G. Howard
Book synopsis: This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

The plot is just... amazing and may I just say, the way you describe Alyssa's dresses? Eris, I'm so sorry! I thought I answered this. I'm so happy you enjoyed Splintered and the characters/imagery! I haven't read the Howl's sequels, but I want to very much! The problem is finding the time to read. Hopefully after my writing deadline is behind me. ;)

Eris Hi Anita can I just say Splintered was exceptionally awesome since I finished it a while ago :) also you have quite a way of using imagery which was brilliantly talented and amazingly weaved in my mind.

I am thankful that you read Howl's Moving Castle also have you read the sequels to it like Castle in the air and House in Many Ways? lastly you made Morpheus a spectacular character in the book as well the other two main characters.

What a great story! Thank you so much for telling me, Stephanie. :) Let me know if you hear back from her. BTW, I did my first signing today. It was so fun! <3

Stephanie While sitting at the register, I see a young reader... she's probably about 12 or so... sitting on the ground proped up against one of our book cases reading Splintered :)

Okay.. she's 10. And Dad just bought it for her! I asked to please have her let us know what she thinks... I'm pretty sure she'll love it! She was very excited explaining it to Mom!

HAPPY SATURDAY!

Eris Hi Anita, "Splintered" is one of the books that I shall never forget at all in my life though I have not started it yet... Have you heard of the late Diana Wynne Jones? a author best known for her Howl Series and Chrestomanci Series though I prefer her Howl Series since it was beautifully vivid and fantastical. have you read Howl's moving castle? since I shall reveal my favourite characters of the series soon to you...
