Ghost Story: Writer's Cottage

This is long overdue but I've been unable to post this until now--my story "Writer's Cottage," which is a ghost story set in Maine and was published last year in Narrative Magazine. Hope you all enjoy it.

Interview with PEN America and PEN Ten

I recently did an interview for PEN America's PEN Ten series:

"“Collective” or otherwise, I think art, as a pursuit, has a place and purpose in the “public” sphere. There are few other known forces in the world that can provide such comfort, solace, provocation, humility, inspiration, arousal, wonder, and self-discovery."

New Novel: The Unwelcome

Hello! I'm posting chapters of my gothic mystery/ghost story THE UNWELCOME on a new blog I've started. The novel is about a young historic preservationist hired to evaluate an old decrepit estate--with a grisly history--on a small island off the coast of Maine.

To begin reading, start here, at the Prologue:

NAN Update

My first blog post here on goodreads was about a collection of linked stories I've been writing called NAN. The collection is finished and it's now a novel-in-stories, containing 10 stories, 7 of which have been published so far.

NAN is about a young woman, Nan, who moves from rural Vermont to NYC for college in the wake of a family tragedy. The book follows her as she tries to adapt, fend off the dangers inherent to the city and to life in general, and find a way out of the grief of her family circumstance. I have hosted all seven published NAN stories on Fictionaut and they have been read nearly 1K times. If you are curious about the NAN, please check out the link here

Thanks for reading and all your support.
