Steven was born in England in 1970, the son of a librarian and a teacher. It was probably inevitable, therefore, that he would grow up loving books. For much of his childhood, he and his family lived in New Zealand, returning to England in 1981. He now lives in Lancashire with his partner, where he works as a software developer.

2025 Retrospective and Goals for 2026

I set myself two goals at the start of this year: publish The Last Dragonrider and publish a new audiobook. I did the first of those on 3rd December, but I've only just started working on the second. I've recorded the first nine chapters of The Last Dragonrider, so that should be available in the next month or so.
