This was a very engaging read in a genre that I found a little hard to classify - there's an few tablespoons of witchcraft (fantasy), about a half cup of science, and two cups of thriller. Perhaps even a quarter cup of horror. Romance is generously salted into the mix, though not the bodice-ripping kind.

It's a thoughtfully different sort of story. This is the sort of book that you will continue to think about long after you've finished it.

I plan to read more of Max Barry.
