Bryan Koepke interviews me about my new Mulligan crime novel, "Providence Rag," for the "Writers Cabin" blog. Check it out. https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...
A fine Q&A about my new Mulligan crime novel, "Providence Rag," appears on Kristi Belcamino's blog. Please check it out. BTW, Kristi has a debut crime novel coming out later this year. http://www.kristibelcamino.com/writer...
I'm going to be featured on NPR's "Crime in the City" on Monday morning, taking correspondent Jennifer Ludden on a tour of Providence, R.I., where my Mulligan crime novels are set. The segment is scheduled to air at 6:50 and again at 8:50 EST, with repeats in the western time zones. There will also be a web version, with audio available on the NPR website, www.npr.org.
"Redemption," a new Noah Milano novelette by my friend Jochem Vandersteen, is available for download now for 99 cents on Amazon. Milano is hired to protect a convicted child killer who has been released after 20 years and is now seeking redemption. When the unexpected happens, Milano has some tough choices to make.Jeremiah Healy, author of "Turnabout" says Vandersteen "takes us back to the glory days of pulp fiction."
Les Roberts, author of the Milan Jacovich series, says "Noah Milano is all too human, which makes him more appealing."
Robert J. Randisi, founder of PWA, says "Noah Milano walks in the footsteps of the great P.I,.'s, but leaves his own tracks."
James W. Hall, author of "Silencer," says: ''The writing is fresh and vivid and lively, paying homage to the past while standing squarely in the present." http://www.amazon.com/Redemption-Mila...
"More fetching than a girl with a dragon tattoo has always been a girl with a Penguin Classic. With e-books, you have no idea what anyone is reading. This is an incalculable loss, not just in fleeting crushes but to civilization." -- Book critic Dwight Garner in today's New York Times.
If you'd like to vote for my novel, "Rogue Island," in my audio publisher's annual "best audio book" of the year contest, here's how you do it. Go to the link below. Sign in or, if you don't already have an audible books account, create one. (It's a good thing to have.) Then you can go to the NCAA-style brackets, where my book is one of 32 competing in the first round. Thanks.https://www.audible.com/tournament
"The Bone Polisher," the sixth and final book in Timothy Hallinan's fine Simeon Grist private eye series, is available FREE on Amazon.com today through Monday. Go get it right now. It's great. The book was originally published by Dutton in 1996, and like all this fine writer's novels, it got great reviews. "Booklist" said: "Do yourself a favor and read it!" And "Mostly Murder" called it "Creepy and screamingly funny" and asked whether success was likely to spoil the author. Here's a hint at what's inside: The novel featuring erudite Los Angeles private eye Simeon Grist takes place in the West Hollywood of 1995, where the community is shaken by the brutal killing of an older man who was widely loved for his generosity and kindness. In a time when the police were largely indifferent to crimes against gay people, Simeon is hired to catch the murderer—and finds himself up against the most dangerous adversary of his career, a man who kills his victims one once, but twice: once physically and once in spirit. The story's climax takes place at a memorable Halloween-themed wake, but there's a big plot twist yet to come. You can download your copy here: http://www.amazon.com/Polisher-Simeon...
My friend Jon Land's remarkable new book about Whitey Bulger and the FBI is a must read. “Mind-blowing,” says the Boston Globe. “A contender for one of the most disturbing books you’ll ever read about law enforcement.” The Associated Press calls the book “Fantastic,” the Providence Journal labels it “Masterful,” and the Huffington Post, speaking for just about everyone, hails BETRAYAL as “a page-turner that reads like a novel that’s nearly impossible to put down. A must read!” To preview an extended excerpt: http://www.criminalelement.com/storie...The Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Betrayal-Whitey...

Thanks for accepting my friend request, Bruce. You seem like an interesting person, so feel free to tell me more about yourself and perhaps we can grow to become even greater friends. Howard Frank Mosher, one of my favorite writers, says "Rogue Island" is "both a first-rate, edge-of-the-seat mystery and a loving evocation of an American city under siege, not by foreign terrorists but—more frightening still—the dark forces of greed and mayhem from within." You can read his entire review of my crime novel here:http://bnreview.barnesandnoble.com/t5...
The Washington Post today says my crime novel, "Rogue Island," is "as good and true a look at the news game as you'll find this side of 'The Front Page,"'" and adds the book should delight "anyone who appreciates a well-written, funny, sad, suspenseful look at this bewildering world we live in."
