Introductions!

Hey there, Tropers! I’m Kristen B. Cole and if you’re looking for a one sentence bio, here it is: I’m the wife to a handsome cybersecurity expert (so my WIFI is basically Fort Knox), mom to two beautiful terrorists, I mean toddlers, and a full time nurse, who decided that I’d rather spend all my free time stressing over writing/publishing a book instead of enjoying the simple pleasure of curling up with a good one. Who needs relaxation when you have existential dread, am I right? Alas, I’ve made it this far—there’s no turning back now!

Anywho, I absolutely love reading romance novels—all genre’s accepted, no smut-shaming allowed. And I’m here with you now, because I ended up writing my very first novel, because apparently my life didn’t have quite enough stress to really give me that final push over the edge into insanity. So if you could spare a moment and indulge a fellow romance lover, I’d like to tell you a little about it.

My debut novel, “The Scientist,” is set to release January 21, 2025. If you’re at all like me—and I think you are—then you tell yourself stories right before bed, releasing your deepest, darkest fantasies into dreamland to go absolutely nowhere but the recesses of your mind. But this time, one of them escaped from my cranial closet and has made it out into the world (scary, I know).

My story goes a little something like this: One particular evening a couple of years ago, or three or four (I don’t know, I’ve lost count at this point), I was watching The Big Bang Theory and went to bed thinking about the romantic story line of the show. My bold take is that I don’t believe the romance in Big Bang would translate well from the small screen to the pages of a book, because Leonard comes off as too much of a pushover, and Penny’s airheaded, flaky tendencies would make it hard to root for them as a couple in book form. So, my nocturnal notions took a turn towards my ideal Leonard and Penny and what that romance would look like in my own little dream escape world. Next thing I knew, I had a few funny sidekicks, a jealous ex-girlfriend, some forced proximity, and out popped “The Scientist!”

Your new favorite book will be available on Amazon in E-book and Paperback form, so Sabrina Carpenter style Please Please Please consider reading my foray into the fine art of Romantic Comedy when it comes out this January!
