As someone who hid my sexuality, …moreThe idea for Pages of My Heart originated one day when I was looking at a collection of old photos of queer couples. As someone who hid my sexuality, and then a same sex relationship in my youth, I understood how that affected the bond between two people, creating a type of co-dependency and intense love. I wanted to explore this type of relationship in a time period where discovery could mean imprisonment, or at least total social isolation or ruin. (less)
