A skinny friend wandered by today
Obsessing over my big yard tree.
For his obsession was keen to weigh
Why all things weren't as skinny as he.
Later, he scrawnied back that same night
Incensed in speech, you can't deny it.
"Look, that tree is plump and overweight,
And needs to be put on a diet!"

Audie Murphy, An America Hero

Inimitable courage followed him throughout his life. And we salute him! 🇺🇸️💖🇺🇸

Audie Murphy, born Audie Leon Murphy in 1925 near Kingston, Texas, came from humble beginnings. Part of a large family of poor sharecroppers, his early life was marked by hard work and struggle. Despite his small stature, his determination was evident from a young age.
Hollywood came calling after World War II, where Murphy emerged as the most decorated American combat soldier. His heroism, including holding off a German onslaught single-handedly, earned him medals like the Medal of Honor. Capitalizing on his fame, James Cagney convinced Murphy to pursue acting.
His initial days in Hollywood were a whirlwind. He landed the lead role in the autobiographical film "To Hell and Back," which resonated deeply with audiences. However, acting wasn't always easy for Murphy. He battled post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition not well-understood at the time. Despite this, he carved out a successful 21-year career, starring primarily in Westerns.
Tragically, Murphy's life ended abruptly in a plane crash in 1971. Though his time in Hollywood wasn't without struggles, he left behind a remarkable legacy. He is remembered as a war hero whose bravery continues to inspire, and an actor who brought the grit and determination of the Wild West to life on screen.

As Thanksgiving arrives, Snoopy leads the way with a reminder we should never forget — gratitude isn’t just about the food on our tables, but the people who protected the freedom that lets us gather in peace. Our veterans marched, served, and sacrificed so families like ours could live, dream, and celebrate moments like this. Today, as the flags wave and the season begins, we honor them with full hearts and deep thanks.
