The other would be a novel set in the same world with Lucas as the protagonist and Andy as a supporting character. Lucas has an interesting story to tell that I would like to explore.(less)

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

The only exposure I had to Andy Weir prior to listening to this audio book was watching the movie adaptation of The Martian, which I really enjoyed. But I had heard mixed things about Andy Weir’s writing so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This novel delivered way beyond my expectations. In fact, it is one of the very best science fiction novels I have ever read.

I tend to be critical more often than Read more of this blog post »

“I have seen many atrocities, but they are outweighed by the kind deeds that may seem small, but when added together, create a strong human spirit. Perhaps you would benefit from living a simple life away from war and politics.”
Carl Alves, Two For Eternity

“Horror itself is a bit of a bullied genre, the antagonist being literary snobbery and public misconception. And I think good horror tackles our darkest fears, whatever they may be. It takes us into the minds of the victims, explores the threats, disseminates fear, studies how it changes us. It pulls back the curtain on the ugly underbelly of society, tears away the masks the monsters wear out in the world, shows us the potential truth of the human condition. Horror is truth, unflinching and honest. Not everybody wants to see that, but good horror ensures that it's there to be seen.”
Kealan Patrick Burke
