“Do not be afraid of the unknown, Jake. When you cannot see something, or do not know of it, it does not always follow that it is a thing to be feared. You must embrace it with all your heart and soul. Learn to understand it, for only then will you be able to control it, or prevent it from controlling you.”

The turbulent existence, the traumas, the wear and tear, the physical injuries and mental scars... all left indelible marks over time on people like her. They warned her of that from the very outset. Baggage, they called it, because you carry it with you wherever you go. Some bags were heavier than others. Too heavy. Most eventually broke under the enormous strain, succumbed to the inevitable and just burned out. “It was wrong. Szabo insiders knew that the whole thing was unspeakable, but they did it anyway. Because they believed sincerely at that point that the enemy was already within. War was upon them. It just hadn’t been declared yet.”

Thanks Lucinda - My books were penned for my children but seem to be doing rather well, though I am struggling to crack Goodreads/entice readers at present. I do hope you try them and let me know what you think but either way thanks for the friendship and look forward to your insights/views. I'm branching out so to speak at present, reading books I would not normally read, a product of having more time on my hands at last now that the trilogy is complete. @:-)

I would like to thank you for being my friend here on GoodReads. I am a huge fan of the fantasy genre and am an avid reader of many works by the authors listed above, hence i do hope to add you to that list too. Your Jake West trilogy really does look amazing, therefore i do hope to be able to read them very soon. Thank you once again and i very much look forward to discussing books and my favorite genre with you (from Tolkien to Dragons and many astonishing adventures!).
Kind Regards
Lucinda x
