It has arrived!

Yes, I finally got a proof that I'm happy with and have authorized distribution of the print version of my novel Alchemy, Sorcery & Magic: A New Age Begins. I'm so happy with this final version and many thanks go out to my cover creator, Dreamscape Covers (J.D. Stroude). The design is awesome. J.D. is a wealth of knowledge because not only is she an artist, she's also an author and has a lot of good advice.

I've already ordered some printed books that should be arriving in the next week or so. That being said, if you're interested I'll be running a contest through the first couple of weeks of March to give away some free copies of the book.

KDP Select listing ends today!

Yes, my KDP Select exclusivity contract ends today. While it was a great learning experience and showed me the value of proper marketing, it also hindered me in not allowing me to place my e-book for sale on other sites. Well while that was going on, I got my book published in paperback form and now it's ready to be distributed. I approved the proof last week and my first shipment of books were waiting for me on my doorstep when I got home last night.

Starting tomorrow I'm going to post my e-book both here on Goodreads and other sites. I'm really excited about the whole thing! Now that the first volume is starting to roll I'll be going back to my outline and start on the next volume of AS&M with the intent of having it completed no later than early fall next year. I'm hoping that my friends at DreamScape covers will have the time to create my next cover. The one for the first volume was awesome so I'll look to them for the next cover as well.

Giveaway Mania!

OK, here's a second post in two days. Can you believe it?!

Well I'm kind of excited. I wasn't sure about this giveaway thing and had some issues with the GoodReads database with regards to the printed version ISBN. But I wanted to give away some books so I set up an event and invited everybody in my friends list at the time. I only got a few people to say they were interested in a free signed copy. I didn't want to have two different giveaways so when I finally got things straightened out with the database it was around Tuesday last week and I set up a standard Giveaway with the same end date as the event I'd set up a couple of weeks earlier.

To say that I was surprised at the amount of interest would be an understatement. Nearly 800 entries were in the pool in a bit over 7 days. I've contacted each of the winners to see how they'd like the salutation addressed. The event I set up ends tonight (miscue on my part) and I'll be contacting each of those winners as well.

I'm flattered and surprised at all the attention this has given my first effort. But now instead of just writing, I have to also look at marketing, promotions, distribution, etc. Oh yeah, I also have those two books in process I talked about yesterday too. Of course this all has to happen in my spare time because I have a day job that pays very well and I can't afford to just concentrate on my writing. lol Yep a busy me but I've always liked challenges.

I'm almost done!

OK, the editor finished my next manuscript and it's almost ready to be published! She did a great job and I'm really happy about the second volume in the AS&M series, it's so much better than my first effort. There are just a few finishing touched before I can send it in to be published. I'll be ready to put the e-version up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble within a week or so. I'm so excited. Now it's on to my next project called "Not So Virgin Mary". It's based on a true story of an amazing woman who was born and raised in Brockton, Ma. I'll be posting the new cover shortly. Once again my friend J.D. Strode of Dreamscape Covers did a great job for my book. I'm very proud to consider her one of my friends as well as a business associate. Look for the new book or check my website for sample chapters of the new book at http://jeffreymichael.weebly.com.

A long road to publication

Well I've finally got the final touches made to the next in the Alchemy, Sorcery & Magic series. The title is Crossings and I just e-published to Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I just have to wait for the projects to be approved. Next up will be the final touches on the spine and back cover to get the printed version ready! Now it's on to the next project which is already well under way.

The next project is based on a true story of a woman born and raised in Brockton, Mass. It's the story of the life of an amazing woman who served in the Navy during WWII, worked in South Korea as an advisor to the Korean president Syngman Rhee, was captured by the North Koreans at the start of the Korean War, spent a couple of weeks in a POW camp, tortured then rescued by the U.S. Was she an OSS operative in WWII? Was she an agent of the fledgling CIA in S. Korea? Did she get dragged back into the covert world after military retirement? Those and many other questions are left up to you, the reader as you take in the story.
