New Book and much more!

I decided that while I was working on three big projects, I needed to take a break to complete something. And that something became the book described below.

A re-imagined telling of an old Fairy Tale. inspired by "The Tinderbox" by Hans Christian Anderson, "A Light from the Fire" is a tale of greed, murder, revenge, and a test. When you are presented with an opportunity for immense wealth and a simple challenge what would you do? Could you resist further temptation? Would you kill for more? What would be your punishment if you did?

It is short, like a fairy tale should be, about 26 pages. It is a great little experience that packs some power in a short space. Dealing with the return of our soldiers, the treatment of women, the loss of moral guidance, and the outcomes from greed and chaos in our lives, A Light from the Fire is a tale of warning and justice.
I am working on a huge work of historical fiction that is really taking up some time but is very fulfilling. That is a book I can't say is close to having some sort of release date though. In other project news, I am working on a book that I should have called done seven years ago. I hope to see that done sometime in the coming six months.
And I am still working toward the release of Dreamcatcher. A collection of art and 32 short stories.

I hope you all are getting work done and creating whatever art you create. I know what my life is like without these creative distractions and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Good luck on your endeavors, may all your nightmares be worth sharing and your daydreams be splendid. A Light From the Fire: A Fairy Tale with a Twist

Atlas Down Book Trailer and news

Here's to hoping that 2013 is going to be a successful one.
I have a ton of projects launching this year, and early 2014.
Beginning with Atlas Down on September 7th, 2013 followed by
Dream Catcher, a collection of short stories, 24 in fact, that combine to tell a wild tale of nightmares and stolen dreams. It will feature 24 illustrations by artists all over the world.
Then there should be my next children's chapter book Busy Bunny's Night of Wonder.
Sometime in early 2014, Sacrificial Eclipse, my third book in the Everlasting Night Series of vampire and werewolf books, and finally, my greatest love in book form. The first Adventure of Lily Ithica. (From the Enchanted Lands of Bisclona series of chapter books, this is the first full length novel.)

Youtube link to my first book teaser trailer for Atlas Down, releasing September 7th 2013.

I have been insanely busy but productive so far in 2013. So with the first book, Atlas Down. I really can't wait to start promoting the book on a mass scale.

Book Giveaway for the Everlasting Night Series

Due to the success of my Everlasting Night Book Series, we are holding a three day e-book giveaway for the Amazon Kindle.
Starting just after midnight on the 18th of this January the first book in the series, A Bite is Forever Part 1, will be free until midnight January 21, 2013.

I want to take this time to thank those of you who have already read one of the books. It really means a lot to me to hear from you.
Some of you have only read Wolf Queen, or only part of A Bite is Forever Part 1, so this is a good time to get the first book in the series for free.

The series has a very politcal vibe with elements of real history intertwined into Vampire and Werewolf Society. So far there are just the two books but the third and fourth books are well under way, will be available before you know it, and will continue the journeys of Alexander, Faye, Clara, Dartan, Chubbs, and so many more.

I hope you will enjoy the book, post on the site what your experience was with it, and tell your friends and family about my work, the giveaway, and how you enjoyed it.

Thank you all so much,

Scott Alexander Baker

Wolf Queen Finally

The final release of Wolf Queen is upon us. After terrible health issues sidelined all of my work, and nearly more, I have finally completeled the needed steps to get this book out on the market.
It is available everywhere in deluxe trade paperback and exclusively over the coming three months on the Amazon Kindle and its lending library.
So check it out.
Its been a long road but the destination is worth the intense journey it took to get here.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me through these trying times. I only hope my health holds up so that I can continue writing and creating.

Time for something Frightening

It's officially October, a great month for cuddling up with a scary book, a thriller, or a spine tingling horror. The nights are longer and the weather is changing bringing that Fall color out of hibernation.
What should you do to fill this void?. This vessel of potential thrills.
Well, I am partial because these are my own works, but try the Everlasting Night Series. The first book "A Bite is Forever Part 1" is out now and available on the kindle, nook, all smartphones, and in paperback. And the best part is the newest book in the series is releasing this month. If you like the first book, you'll really love to sink your teeth into the juicy and intense follow up, "Wolf Queen".
While "Wolf Queen" does pick up with all the character from the first book, it also introduces a bevy of new ones namely Clara, who finds herself in the tumultuous world of Werewolf politics.
see. www.ScottAlexanderBaker.com for more details or look on Goodreads.com for a chance to win a copy of the first book before October 07th.

How many fires is a burden

Staring down the stack of papers that is my desk I realize how out of hand things have gotten. At what point is it a bad thing to be working on too many projects at once? How many is too many?
In a manner of speaking, I have no shortage of things to write. But I wonder if I am spread too thin.
There seems to be a danger that my pile is going to capcize my desk.
There must be a limit that authors should set themselves.
I have fourteen books that I am reading. And I have about the same amount of things I am eiting or writing right now.
Just feels like I have allowed my appetite to supercede my ability to keep up. I love writing. Letting my creativity flow into as many vessels as possible. Without it I would lose my mind completely. But in what amount does this flow turn into a flood?
I wonder who else feels like life has a breaking point where it is time to cut things back.
Fall isn't really a season for pruning but maybe its time to get things under control. Only wondering!

Book Proofs

It is really hard to describe the feeling of opening the first box of books. When all your ideas, all the hard work of preparing and collaborating is done. Seeing your book in a finished form. Its nerve racking and yet undeniably fulfilling.
As hard as the process is at times. I live for the build up. When you aren't sure of anything and yet you still feel confident that it is all worth it.
Being creative is only part of the drive. I truly hope readers love the finished work.
As far as needing proof. I just opened my first box of proof for this book. And I am really looking forward to further boxes of courage.
