While Bernadette has hopped around genres, from paranormal romance to humorous romance to serious women's fiction, all of her books to date have a common theme: strong women handling what life throws at them the best way they can.

Historical fiction is not usually my jam but this one felt timeless. Loved the writing style. Loved the characters. Not sure what else to say--Loved it! Great for a book club selection. Looking forward to exploring more from this author.
