Cenk Enes Ozer is a Turkish-born novelist whose life has been marked by both exile and resilience. Before 2016, he published nine books in Turkey and built a career as a storyteller — until a government crackdown silenced his voice overnight. When his publisher was shut down, his books were pulled from shelves, and his future as a writer was erased.

Forced to leave his homeland, he arrived in North America with little more than determination. In Canada, survival came first. He worked in construction sites and carpentry workshops, sweating through long days to rebuild life for his family. For years, he stayed silent — not because he lacked words, but because he refused to let desperation define him.

From Sawdust to Stardust: How I Answered Silence in a New Language

When I arrived in Canada in 2016, I had to choose between bread or books.
I picked bread.

Back in Turkey, I had been a writer. Nine novels on the shelves. Readers who followed my every story. And then, overnight, silence. My publisher was shut down after the coup attempt, and every title I had written was pulled from stores. My name disappeared from the book world as if it had never existed.

Cenk Enes Ozer When the Devil Loves

When the Devil Loves is finding its own way by ranking up in Religious Fantasy Fiction category. It is not something unexpected of course. But I categorized it as Mythic/Epic Fantasy. Do you think I should accept it and change my strategy or keep pushing it through Mythic/Epic Fantasy?

Cenk Enes Ozer Announcing My New Novel: When the Devil Loves

Dear Readers,

I am very excited to share some news that has been years in the making. My new novel, When the Devil Loves, is now available!

This is my first English-language release after a lifetime of writing in Turkish. It is a story that has lived inside me through exile, silence, and finally renewal. Now, it has taken shape as a mythic fantasy set in an original universe—a tale of creation, rebellion, free will, and love.

At its heart is Azâzil, a being neither angel nor demon, who dares to ask questions that others will not:

Who made me?

Why was I given the gift of choice?

How do I live in harmony with divine order?

These questions are not only spiritual—they are human. And I believe they matter now more than ever, especially for young people searching for meaning in a noisy world.

I would love for you to take a look at the book, and if it resonates, to share it with others who might also be inspired.

Thank you for walking this journey with me. Writing this novel has been a way to reclaim my voice, and I am honored to finally share it with you.

With gratitude,
Cenk Enes Ozer
