Ya'll, writing is hard...
I'm currently trying to write book 2 but I'm struggling. Between my real job, my family and trying to figure out how to get people to read my first book, I'm exhausted.
I'm getting good feedback from the first book, but marketing it myself is difficult. I'm not good at social media and don't have a ton of money to spend to hire someone else to try and get it out there, but I'm not giving up.
I feel like I don't get to write as much as I'd like and working full time seriously gets in the way of my creative flow. I'm trying to block out time to write and my husband is resigned to only having half of my attention again. He's amazing, always supports me and my dreams of writing, but he's not wrong. He sometimes gets ignored. I know it took me a long time to actually write and finish my first book. A year of being serious about it, but almost 30 years of dreaming about it. Everyone says "Why didn't you do it sooner?" Well... because I had work and kids and honestly didn't prioritize it or myself enough. Now, my kids are adults and I finally feel like I can carve out time for it, but real life still gets in the way.
Last weekend we poured concrete to extend our driveway and I tried to help as much as possible. Guys... I strained my bicep and ended up in quick care. I need to stick to writing and not manual labor! So back to the keyboard for me.
