About the Author
Avalon Ash is a multidisciplinary writer, intuitive, and healing practitioner whose poetic journey began at the age of seven. She began journaling in 1995, and by thirteen, poetry had become her lifeline. It was during her high school years that her writing truly flourished, nurtured by the encouragement of her 9th-grade English teacher and inspired by literary giants such as Edgar Allan Poe, William Blake, John Knowles, Robert Frost, Mary Shelley, and William Shakespeare.
In her twenties, Avalon expanded her influences to include the introspective and transformative works of John Keats, Sylvia Plath, T.S. Eliot, Bram Stoker, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jack Kerouac, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Leo Tolstoy, voices that deepened her lyrical

Obey the Moon by Avalon Ash
“Obey the Moon

She calls me -
not with words,
but with the roar of tides,
with the pulse in the soles of my feet
When I walk barefoot through dusk.

I am made of her.
Bone-glow, blood-pull,
a creature strung together by the phases,
threaded with silver
and ancient instinct.”

Obey the Moon by Avalon Ash
“I have knelt before cathedrals,
But none have summoned my reverence
the way your body does,
a sanctuary not carved in stone
but sinew, breath, and pulse.”

“The darkness does not define you.
What you do inside it does.
And you -
You have lit candles with shaking hands,
drawn maps in the dark for others to follow,
become the warmth you were once denied.”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“By February, I am nothing but breath and bone,
a pilgrim of frostbitten mornings,
trudging through corridors of gray light,
where every shadow is a cold dread.”
Avalon Ash, Obey the Moon: 1995–2025, A Collected Work Vol. II

“I am never alone now.
You dwell quietly in the chambers of my heart,
a constant hush beneath the noise.

You feel like home,
not a place, but a gravity.”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“Maybe those who smoke
are simply the ones who’ve stopped running
From the truth:
The body is a house
already on fire.
That we are born
into a slow unraveling.”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“Even as the smoke curls skyward,
The world loses its sharpness,
and for a moment,
Grief loosens its grip,
and I forget
How much it hurts
to remain.”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“Oppenheimer, they say,
was one of the brilliant ones,
The kind of mind that could read the breath
of stars before they formed.
A man who reached into the quantum dark
and returned with fire cupped in his hands.”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“We grew up on the fallout,
the invisible dust of ambition and fear.
We learned to dream inside bunkers,
to kiss like it was an act of rebellion
against the men in suits who wrote
the end of the world in fountain pen ink.
Maybe we didn’t even have a chance.
Maybe the dice were loaded
long before we were born,
Our names not written in peace”
Avalon Ash, Time With Trees: 1995–2025, A Collected Work

“I have seen the world bleed,
The fox caught in rusted wire,
The old tree felled without thanks,
The child with eyes that have already learned of loss.
And still,
I bloom from the bruised earth,
wild and reaching.

There is a tremble in my soul
like the hush before a storm,
sacred and aching.
I do not turn away.”
