Corey Newell’s work has appeared in more than 1000 U.S., Canadian, and Mexican periodicals, as well as in almanacs, compendiums, documentary film, and encyclopedias. Following three decades as a journalist, college-level educator, and curriculum developer, he turned his attention to writing place-based fiction situated primarily in the U.S. Rocky Mountain West and desert Southwest. He has lived, worked, and volunteered as a field naturalist in Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Oregon, and is fluent in Spanish.
