From Bedtime Whispers to Published Words

I’m Henry Guard, and I didn’t always think of myself as a storyteller. That changed when my children were young. Each night, they’d ask for a story—and not the same one. So I began inventing them. Sometimes I had a thread of a plot, other times just a spark, but always the joy of seeing their eyes light up in the dark.
Those stories traveled far: across frozen lands, to distant stars, and even into strange conversations with Time itself. What began as a quiet ritual between parent and child slowly grew into something more—a deep love for building worlds and watching characters come alive.
Eventually, one story asked to be written down. Then another. Now I’m sharing them more widely, not just in books but here, with you.
This blog isn’t just about a single book or series. It’s about the path I followed from telling bedtime tales to becoming an author. I’ll be sharing thoughts on the storytelling process, glimpses into my favorite characters, and maybe even pieces of those old bedtime stories that started it all.
