Pacific Rim
Transformers VS Godzilla–Rodan would be turning in his grave. Pacific Rim is dim cgi that descends into a poor soap opera with a preposterous ending. Charlie played Charlie and was the only thing worth watching in this sad mess that even the gorgeous Idris Elba couldn’t save. 2.5/10 Tokyo cringes.

Oz the Great and Powerful
Oz the Great and Powerful would be more apted retitled as Oz the lackluster and disappointing. Starring a cast of current studio favorites, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams to name a few. This gathering of a cast that should–could have pulled off the fantasy seemed to wander between over the top [...]

The Significance of Numbers
As I was working I suddenly became aware of a repetition in this book. There seemed to be a disappropriate amount of number four and turning left. Building four, room four, four streets, four floors, four people. And then everyone was turning left. Left into, left out of, left hand, left tilt. Finding this strange [...]

Mid-Book Blues
Whenever I reach the midpoint of a book I become inexplicably depressed and instead of celebrating the achievement I decide it is all rubbish and not worth the effort. I feel as if I have lost the thread of meaning that drives it all and suddenly it becomes no more than a wandering bunch of [...]

My Dogue is #trending— is yours?
Scharnelle decided to check out her fame on Google images. She has embraced her inner diva with a passion that would be frightening if not for the conviction of Jojo that his gangsta would out #trend her celebredog. Much to my surprise both of them turned up with not one but several pictures, which now [...]

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton gives pretty much what you would expect of a movie based on a fairy tale. The spin of having the children grow up into witch hunters is an amusing twist typical of a movie smart enough not to take itself seriously. Seeing Will Ferrell [...]

I die, you die, we all die
It used to be that sex sold everything from cars to bags of concrete, but the flavour of television has changed. Perhaps the endless economic setbacks of the world have impacted upon the subconscious of the world as life appears to now be viewed through the goggles of fear. If you live in Australia, particularly [...]

The Impossible
Sometimes I just have to wonder at my own stupidity. I flounder about procrastinating about starting work and then when I do I create impossible situations. When I started the Vampiris Series I wrote the three books concurrently as the word building was a large and difficult task. I had complicated worlds within worlds and [...]
