Natalie Kaminsky (NZ Kaminsky) lives in a quiet suburb of Ottawa with her family. A lifelong reader and newborn writer, she finds comfort in rustling leaves, well-worn pages, and time spent in solitude. She holds a degree in Behavioral Science, has pursued further studies in language and literature, and spent years teaching before turning to writing full-time.

Her furry companions often find their way into her stories, keeping her company as she builds worlds where reality and dreams blur. When she’s not writing, she enjoys wandering through small towns and forests, sharing slow picnics, or getting lost in a good book.

Drawing from her background and passions, Natalie writes introspective, immersive stories where psychology, mindfulness, and

Love yourself as if nobody’s watching

Many of us carry the subconscious belief that self love is selfish. We know, intellectually, that it’s nonsense, right? But breaking the cycle of self abandonment is incredibly hard. It surfaces every time we try to escape uncomfortable emotions, troublesome realities, or simple exhaustion. What if we committed to practicing self love, portion by portion, each day? For example, by sitting in a com Read more of this blog post »

“Get cozy with your sorrow,
Cuddle with your grief.
Float with your fears,
And melt within your anger.
Stroll through your frustrations,
Your disappointments,
And your regrets.
Dive into your doubts,
Your powerlessness,
Your hopelessness.
Surrender.”
NZ Kaminsky, Sense of Home

“There was light, warmth, and love under that tiny shelter. It was small but just enough to get through difficult times.”
NZ Kaminsky, Sense of Home

“Her broken heart was still beating. How come? Buses were running, buzzing, humming. People were smiling.
Birds' chatter and kids' laughter rang in her ears, causing her pain. The streets with fancy boutiques, ready for the winter testival, were nonchalant to her sorrow. And the coffee shops served croissants.

“As life has its way, unfortunate events often happen in a row-one after another, shooting forth like a rapid train in front of our eyes. When one's heart is still hurting, still fighting, another strike is already on the way.
No time to feel, no time to notice, no time to heal.”
NZ Kaminsky, Sense of Home

“When the storm comes, the formidable oak breaks easily, but the flowing willow bends and sways in the wind. When the storm's over, the willow straightens up again and regenerates. It sheds its damaged branches and leaves to reduce its overall burden and recover. Recovery takes time, and the willow allows it.”
NZ Kaminsky, Sense of Home

“It's advisable to take your inner witch for a walk on the leash every now and then.
Heh, heh."

"My witch is certainly in need of air.”
