Who was the Vampire of Dusseldorf

The so-called Vampire of Düsseldorf was a serial killer named Peter Kürten who operated in Germany between 1913 and 1930. He was also a convicted arsonist and rapist who had spent several years in prison for these crimes, though the authorities had no idea until his capture in 1930 that he was a killer.
