Today is the release day of my latest novella, Carry Her Gently. I wanted to play with the "enemies to lovers" trope, so I made it "Enemies-to-Just-Kidding,-They're-Both-Ace," where the plot builds up to an epic meeting of the two protagonists, but has their meeting transform them into better people in a non-romantic way. I am proud of how it came out, but content warning: because it's about war, it has a sad / serious tone, and there are several violent acts in it [but nothing explicit or extended gore/suffering].
The best part about it: it's based on a true story! Telesilla was an author and larger-than-life hero from ancient Greece who saved her people from a Spartan army by weaponizing their own toxic masculinity against them! Although only one line of her poetry survives, she was praised as one of the nine "earthly Muses," famous Greek women poets. Her actions were praised by numerous ancient authors.
