When Julie Bihn was a little girl, her preschool teachers accused her of telling "stories" when she said her father had no legs and flew an airplane. Little did they know she was telling the truth, as her father is a double amputee and did take flying classes!

Gifted with writing skills by her mother and a steady supply of paper by her father, Julie has been writing and telling stories--true and imagined--as long as she can remember. She speaks of truth and love through fanciful tales of other times and places.

Julie's interest in writing and societies led her to a double degree in Creative Writing and Sociology from the University of Arizona. She is author of Titanic Voyage and A Selkie's Prayer and co-author of The Healer and the Pirate. Vi

I’m not dead! New Year!

New Year, everyone! I’m not much of a blogger, but I just signed on to make some updates. Probably the best place to see what I’m chatting about is Bluesky, a Twitter alternative. I also enjoy Mastodon.

Other that that, I’ve been working on the sequel to Titanic Voyage, Immigrants’ Journey. Immigrants’ Journey is told from a different character’s point of view (and also their sister jumped in and d

Some Christians are eager to defend sound doctrine. Well and good. But is the unity of the body of Christ one of those doctrines we jealously guard? As we observed in chapter 1, the unity of the church is one of the objects of Christ's death (Eph. 2: ...more

Chapters 1 and 2 are the highlight of the book. If you only read those chapters you will learn a lot in how you think and be convicted in some way. Chapter 3 seems unnecessary. Does the reader need to know his story and how he came to theol" Read more of this review »

“What was the apostrophe doing there? Did the doctor own the Meescham? And what was it with exclamation marks? Did people not know what they were for? Surprise, anger, joy—that's what exclamation marks were for. They had nothing to do with who resided where.”
Kate DiCamillo, Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures

“Those who are given special gifts from the Kinsman have a great responsibility to use them faithfully. That doesn't mean ye won't fail. It just means ye'll have to work hard to make things right.”
Dawn Ford, The Girl with Stars in Her Eyes

“We’re not meant to hero it alone. It doesn’t usually work out well that way.”

Annie Duke
“What makes a decision great is not that it has a great outcome. A great decision is the result of a good process, and that process must include an attempt to accurately represent our own state of knowledge. That state of knowledge, in turn, is some variation of “I’m not sure.”
