I have lived and written on the wind- and snow-swept Northern Plains of South Dakota, the Sonora Desert, and the beautiful Hill Country of central Texas. Novels about people and the perspectives guiding their decisions are the result. My fiction features faith-based themes set in the real world, which is occasionally profane or violent.

My characters are realistically portrayed as caught between heaven and earth. Not always what they should be, nor what used to be, they are like all of us. I hope that my work can entertain you, make you think, and touch your heart. My methodology is complex, but my motive is simple: I have things to say, so I write.

Season of Fear

Hey there. I know, it’s been awhile.

I’m writing this on the day following President Trump’s airstrikes on the three most prominent Iranian nuclear facilities. It was historic day to be sure. But historicity isn’t what concerns me at the moment.

As you know, I wrote fiction in three series, and endeavor which has largely run its course. As you might not be aware, each of those sixteen titles was str

“McAllen nodded to Schuster and headed for the stairwell again. Yes, I could be wrong, and big armored battle monkeys could fly out of my ass before lunch too.”

“The top of a hill had the best view.”
Dale Amidei, The Anvil of the Craftsman

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”
Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches

“Without readers, an author's voice is only imagination.”

“Nothing living should ever be treated with contempt. Whatever it is that lives, a man, a tree, or a bird, should be touched gently, because the time is short. Civilization is another word for respect for life.”
Elizabeth Goudge

“People in that setting spent a lot of time talking and very little doing. They seemed so often to be divorced from real-world considerations.”
Dale Amidei, The Anvil of the Craftsman

“You’re judging now, sir. We judge every time we decide.” Anthony regretted the words almost as he formed them, but for just a second they helped vent a pressure wave, the surge of emotion that he felt building up inside him.”
