Kim, I read "The Devil's Mambo" and its great. wait till you read the sequel "Revenge Tango" it gets even better... :) Its sad to know that the author Jerry A rodriguez passed away earlier this year. I read he was going to begin the third part of the Nicholas Esperanza series called "Rumba for the Dead" It was going to be based in Puerto Rico.
I highly recommend if you haven't read it already Ivan Sanchez's "NEXT STOP:Growing Wild Style in the Bronx". Its his memoir. It's funny because while reading it he started to talk about people that I actually knew and went to school with in the 90's.

i'll check your recommendations next time i'm in the book store thanks. I need to get Ivan's book. I'm gonna order it online and read. I'm so behind.
