Jenny Ashley was born in Dallas, Texas. She began writing when she was in elementary school and read voraciously as a child. This love of literature and writing carried over into her college years. In 2004, Jenny attended the University of Texas at Brownsville on a volleyball scholarship. During her undergraduate degree, Jenny decided to major in English, and in 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in the field.

Soon after, she continued her education at UTB, completing a Master's degree in English in 2011.

She is the author of three romantic suspense novels in The Cecilia Parkinson Thrillers.

“Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best-seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.”

Robert Frost
“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise in the writer, no surprise in the reader.”

“John Steinbeck once said that socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”
Ronald Wright, A Short History of Progress

“I wish I could tell you how lonely I am. How cold and harsh it is here. Everywhere there is conflict and unkindness. I think God has forsaken this place. I believe I have seen hell and it's white, it's snow-white.”
