She Just Like Me: Never Send a Man to Do a Woman’s Job
It was a beautiful sunny June day my birthday party had already started, we were kicking it hard. Usually I would celebrate my birthday with Angel because our birthdays were a day apart. We were not this year; there would not be any children around just the grown and sexy. Shelter number seven was going to make history today. We were ready to party like rock stars. Everyone was showing up, all the D boys were pulling up in their best whips; all the hot girls came out knowing all the cats with money would be there. I had several bags of bud bagged up and ready to sell; One hundred dollar bags or better that’s what it was today. It was going to be a day to remember.
Trey had pulled up with his crew and some new cats from Cali that I hadn’t met before, they were all some fine brothers and we were checking them out. Trey introduced us to his friends, and they all pinned fifties and hundreds on me, the money was coming fast and I loved every bit of it. The crap game going on was where all the big money cats were. There had to be about ten thousand down on the concrete. Big Ike was running the game. Me and his daughter didn’t get along because she was messing with Chelsies husband, but me and Big Ike was cool and he loved crap games. Trey and his boys joined the crap game; someone was going to come up on some big money because they were not playing with small bills.
I was down the hill chatting with some of my school friend, we were laughing at JC and Bug riding on that little ugly moped that JC had rode to the party. Bug was a thick girl and JC was riding her on the back of that little ugly thing he called a moped. I was as high as a kite cracking up at them. I walked over greeting more people. When all of a sudden everybody started running and screaming so I ran also. I didn’t know why they were running but when black people see people running it is usually about to be some bullshit. Next thing I heard was pow!,pow! pow! pow! I hit the ground next to a car and laid there for a minute, my heart was beating so fast it was all I could hear. I just knew it had to be something that had gone wrong with that crap game because of all that money that they had on the ground. When I finally got up and ran up the hill to see what went down. Mickey was holding him, rubbing his head telling him not to die and telling him everything was going to be alright.
