I just saw this question! I actually DO wish I could continue the Confectionately Yours series. I really love the characters. However, I haven't managed to come up with the right next story in that series. Maybe one day I will! ;-)(less)

I really love WW2GJ, and it makes me so happy to hear that you do, too! So--this is a GREAT question. In order to write the book, I had to do a pretty detailed plot for the Queen of Twilight. (As a side note, the original title of WW2GJ *was* Queen of Twilight, but some OTHER book called "Twilight" was being released at the same time, and the publisher was worried that there would be confusion.) I also drew a map, so that I could keep track of where my characters were. I *did* always think that it would be fun to write the Queen of Twilight--I imagined that Fabiella Banks would have a very over-the-top high fantasy writing style, much like the opening paragraph of WW2GJ. Vignette

I recently read two books by Abigail Thomas: Safekeeping: Some True Stories from a Life and What Comes Next and How to Like It: A Memoir. Both are memoir, and both are told in vignette. A vignette is a brief, evocative, descriptive moment, and Thomas uses this to brilliant effect. These books are not told in strict chronological order. They are ordered the way that memory is ordered, with one thoug Read more of this blog post »

“She swore vengeance on all men with dark hearts.”
Lisa Papademetriou, Siren's Storm

“People make mistakes; they do the wrong things. Sometimes they're annoying. Sometimes they're awful. (That's true for me, too, by the way.)
So how do you know when it's time to give up? And do you know when to hang in there? I guess you don't really. You just make your choices and hope for the best.”
Lisa Papademetriou, Taking the Cake!

“It's always best to avoid strangling the person you're on a date with. No matter how crazy he makes you.”
Lisa Papademetriou, Accidentally Friends

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there's no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”
Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone
