S. L. Vela graduated from Texas A&M International University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Growing up in a family where the Nintendo 64 had to be shared between her siblings and herself, she read, wrote, and told adventure stories as another source of entertainment until she found herself passionate about writing fiction. She lives in Texas with her husband and their two pets: their lionhead rabbit, Benjamin, and their playful cat, Lilith.
