America Should Not Be So Free

I think if you give too much rope to anyone they'll end up using it for something stupid. As I've always said....when you give people too much freedom, it means nothing unless they use that freedom with responsibility and convey an element of class while doing it. Otherwise, it's just plain stupidity and breaks down our standards of conscience as well as social status when perceived as a whole.

I'm, of course, not suggesting us being in complete control by external forces because we have North Korea and previously Germany to see what happens when those examples are used. However, total freedom? I don't believe in it, because it can disrupt people's lives and society as a whole and downgrade its overall worldwide worth. Therefore, there's something to be said for balance. If you swing too far one way or too far the other, things will become too extreme.

Freedom isn't the ability to do anything we want. Freedom is, instead, the opportunity for people to be responsible, use their conscience, as well as giving them a chance to be viewed by the majority of society as having a sense of self-respect, pride, and class. That's really the only way American society as a whole is going to be a better one, since it is actually NOT number one in everything anymore.

To be a better society, and better people overall, it's not about religion even though that sometimes helps, because non-religious people can still have good morals, have a conscience, do the right thing, and convey themselves in a way that shows class. It's all about getting us to all take the right path because, if we don't, we have just abused the right of freedom that we were given and, in turn, truly don't deserve it.
