Johnny Walker is a musician turned soundman turned storyteller. He has received two Billboard Songwriting Citations and been published in Global entertainment trades. Johnny grew up in the Southwest, sneaking into the den late at night to watch old movies. Having spent most of his youth playing music on the road, he ‘settled down’ in New York City and became submersed in live theater and music venues, this time performing A/V duties from the sound booth. After three decades of entertainment mayhem, Johnny has taken his experiences and transformed them into a fantasy-based trilogy. Yes, I have. More than once.
The most memorable, and I'll try to keep this brief, happened backstage at an old theater in Knoxville, TN. I was young, touring with a musical play called, Cotton Patch Gospel.

I was behind a plywood wall, waiting for my cue to go on stage. As I stood backstage in the dark, I noticed something bright, high on the catwalk. A man in overalls with a long white beard was staring at me. He wasn't white, as in 'paper' white, but he wasn't transparent, either. He was a good twenty feet away, but at the same time, he was right beside me.

He was calm, and he conveyed a warmth; a sensation similar to that of a grandparent patting a youngster on the head. Pretty much stopped me in my tracks.

When I got to my hotel room later in the evening, there was a message from my sister. My stepmom had died that night.

I worked the old guy into the EKKO story, slightly. Since the ghosts in EKKO are adventurous and full of life, the old guy simply made a cameo appearance in book one.

Actually- um- GR informs me that I recommended 'Stalking Shadows' by Tahlia Newland to you- Actually I didn't, I never recommend books- by cold call through GR. Haven't a clue what went wrong- but - I did give that YA fantasy 5 *. Now I suspect you will say that you never replied to my non-existent recommendation. Oh- I have to put a question mark - here goes -?
