Back to School Notes

Wow - back to school. When I was a child, back to school meant new pens, pencils, and notebooks. Way back in my day, we didn't carry backpacks. All our supplies stayed at school. I don't recall ever having homework other than learning multiplication tables by rote. If we didn't finish our class work, we stayed after school until it was done. Yes. I grew up in a small Texas town similar to the one where my character, Jack, grew up.

Maybe that's why I returned to that atmosphere when I wanted to write about monsters. It's not my first time pretending to be a teenage boy, though. My first monster story - pseudo zombie, if you will - also was told by a teen boy. That's the story, CHEMS. You can find it for 99 cents on Amazon.

Funny how I keep returning to my childhood but in the voice of another character ... oh, yeah. This time I've even included my old dog, Snake, the pit bull / boxer mix. Man, he was a good 'un. The best.

TAKERS is out in hardcover, paperback, and ebook. The audio version is also in the works.

Book Two, SEEKERS, will be out soon, as well.
