Stephanie is a successful businesswoman having worked for Bell Canada for 25 years. She does extensive volunteer work, participates in sports and coaching and serves her church as the choir organist. In November 2004 she was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow cancer, Multiple Myeloma. In May of 2005 she was awarded the Optimist Volunteer of the Year Award just 1 month after an autologous stem cell transplant. A year later in May 2006 she walked 21 kms in the Ottawa Marathon to raise funds for cancer prevention. After the failure of her first stem cell transplant she elected to have a high-risk allogeneic bone marrow transplant from her brother Jimmy in March 2007. Doing great!

Steve has completed 4 weeks of radiation, 2.5 weeks left to go.  Steve is showing no effects from the radiation, however he has had some side effects from the hormone treatment. The most tiring thing is driving back and forth to Ottawa every day.  Hopefully, when this treatment is done he will get the all clear.  Now that would be nice news!
