Ralph E. Laitres, born 6 February 1961 in Portland, Maine, is the creator and writer behind the character of Thorgil Bloodaxe.

Ralph served as a United States Marine (1980-1990) as a 1371, Combat Engineer, and is a retired Connecticut Correction Officer (1990-2011).

He is enjoying his retirement by traveling down another career road by becoming a noted author, and making the name of Thorgil Bloodaxe a household name with a cult following.
