Bluebell The Wish Fairy
Well, even though I am known for my poetry and dark novels, during COVID I decided to do something completely different! I thought children were going through such a traumatic experience they needed a bit of escapism and pure fun. Thus my fairy adventure series began!
This is the first of three fairy books
I am currently writing book number four.
The Fairies of Therwen Wood
Book 1 – Bluebell The Wish Fairy
Join Bluebell, the new wish fairy and her magical friends on their exciting adventures in Therwen Wood.
Bluebell has moved to Therwen Wood to help grant wishes to children in the human world. Unfortunately, her first day does not go at all well. She bumps into a bumblebee carrying a honeypot full of honey for the Queen’s special fairy cakes. Then Bluebell accidently turns the Head Wish gnome purple! The gnome does not believe that Bluebell has what it takes to be a wish fairy. Can Bluebell prove to everyone in Therwen Wood that she is a good wish fairy?
Book Series Information –
• Book Type – Chapter Book with black and white illustrations.
• Reading Age – Good Readers aged 5+
‘P.J. Reed’s middle-grade novel, Bluebell: The Fairies of Therwen Wood, is a sweet fantasy full of fairies and magic and wishes that come true. The plot follows Bluebell’s escapades as she struggles to fit in, do a good job as a wish fairy, and her frustration when nothing seems to be going right. Then she interacts with a human girl, Maya, who struggles with some of Bluebell’s same issues: bullying and harassment.
The language is simple to help young readers, and the story is accompanied by black-and-white drawings to move the plot forward. The dialogue is engaging, and the reader will share a chuckle or two, as well as a few tears of frustration, as Bluebell stumbles her way toward success.
Young readers will feel connected to Bluebell’s plight, and they’ll be cheering her on as she struggles against one problem after another but never gives up. Her perseverance is a powerful tool for all to learn,’ E-J.

* Big Book Announcement! *
I’m delighted to announce the long awaited ‘The Mercian Chronicles: Sword and Fire’ is on sale this Monday but the eBook is available to pre-order today
Be warned this is dark high fantasy not elven romance…
‘Get away from me, you wyrm-ridden idiots. You have no idea what’s coming for you!’ Meloc shouted, ‘I need to speak to Chief Feitar!’
‘Your threats have no hold here, warlock-scum!’ the Wergend officer growled.’
The sorcerers of Dunmuirlun watch for ripples in the galdor energy pathways throughout the Two Kingdoms. Anyone within the Kingdom of Mercia, able to control this energy is a potential threat to Dunmuirlun and in the months prior to the invasion many of the Mercian magikborne disappeared.
Sword and Fire by P.J. ReedMeloc came to Welfasten to warn the town chief of an evil presence growing in the darkness and the disappearances of the Mercian magikborne. However, he had not made it past the great city walls and had been thrown in prison accused of practising illegal magik.
The city chief offers him two choices: either be sent to Eldingar Tower and undergo the unmynstering to remove his magik or find the Serpent’s Breath, the lost galdor weapons of Mercia, the only weapons able to destroy the magically enhanced Dunmuir army.
To the hunted warlock either choice could have deadly consequences.
Which will he risk losing? His life or his magik?
