Angels and Demons (Robert Langdon 1) – Dan Brown

This Angels and Demons re-read has reinforced how much I loved this book the first time. The thriller ride through the beautiful city of Rome is the stuff of which great books are made. Recommended for fans of thriller books that build on history with a gripping plot and provide fast-paced action. Drop by for my full review.

Hidden Figures – Disney+

So many things spring to mind. Resilience. Adversity. Prejudice. Equality. Pushing boundaries. Inspirational. Moving. Memorable. I don't think I can recommend this movie enough. It's a must for anyone with a heart.

The Fowl Twins (Book 1) – Eoin Colfer

THE FOWL TWINS (Book 1) by Eoin Colfer is a wonderful start to a new series that builds on the familiarity of its hugely popular predecessor. Eoin Colfer is a master of words. Drop by to see my full review.

Onward – Disney +

So, it’s been a number of months now since I sat down to watch ONWARD. The first thing that comes to mind is the beautiful animation. When I watch CG movies, I can’t help but look beyond the story and appreciate the detail that has been included in each scene. ONWARD is a great story […]

2020 Hindsight – Books, Writing, and that Other Thing

2020 has been the year that we all normally read about in books. I would have preferred it to stay in between the covers.

Jake Atlas and the Tomb of the Emerald Snake – Rob Lloyd Jones

This is a series that I'm determined to finish. I love the action, the adventure, the setting, the characters, and ... everything else. Awesome covers with maximum pop unfold to a reveal a great read for fans of adventure, gadgets, and settings that are packed full of secrets and traps.

Raya and the Last Dragon – Movie Trailer

Raya looks like an inspiring story with a main character who is striving to overcome the odds and prevail. The fantasy setting is based on the region of South East Asia, and that in itself brings the promise of a wonderful setting and exploration of cultures that are rich and diverse. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Artemis Fowl (Book 1) – Eoin Colfer

A good start to a series that I know is already a winner with a bazillion readers. Recommended for readers who are after a bit of magic and fantasy mixed into a teen-spy-criminal type character with money to burn.
