For anyone interested in my new thing:

Blurb:

Carrick Slaine is a druid. Not that he knew that.

It wasn't until his fifteenth birthday when he was kidnapped, interrogated and framed for his mother's murder that he learned the truth. Now he's got a legacy to live up to, mythical powers, complicated friends and a forest nymph that will not stop stalking him.

Sadly the wonders of his new life can't replace the one he left behind. Torn between worlds, Carrick must come to terms with where he belongs and do it quickly. The fallen druids that hunt his kind from beneath their faceless corporate umbrella now also know who he is and they are not content with letting him live.

Seven quick pieces of advice for writers that I had to learn the hard way.

7. Don’t set word goals.

There are those who love word goals. I personally hate them. They lord over me making my writing devolve into traumatic flashbacks of piano practice. If you find yourself in the same boat, try to set a scene goal instead. It may be a thousand words, it may be two hundred, doesn’t matter. You’ll feel better knowing ‘man I knocked out that fight/sex/murder/drama scene’ than you will shouting ‘yes! I typed one thousand words!’ The latter could always mean several hundred...
