Then I remembered… Smitty died four years ago, and whatever he was growling at just whispered my name.

The old funeral home’s door creaked open as I stepped inside, my footsteps echoing in the dim light of the embalming room. The corpses were sitting up, their hollow eyes locked on me, and in unison, they grinned.(less)

There's something about the grim allure of that place—the hidden horrors lurking behind a storefront, the quiet whispers of those who suspect but dare not speak, and the eerie normalcy of a town built on a foundation of unthinkable sins.

I wouldn’t go there as a customer, nor as a mere observer—I would go to unravel the truth. To feel the pulse of that cursed town under my fingertips. I would walk those dimly lit streets at night, listening to the distant hum of a meat saw, the dull thud of something heavy being chopped, and the uneasy laughter of those who pretend they don’t know what they’re eating. I would seek out Alchopya himself, not to condemn or glorify him, but to understand him. What truly drives a man to such depravity? Is it power? A twisted form of artistry? Or is it something deeper—something even he refuses to acknowledge?

I would talk to the people, study their faces, see the subtle shivers when they bite into their “special” cuts of meat. I would document it all, capturing the terror, the complicity, the uneasy acceptance of a town that has grown too accustomed to darkness.

And maybe—just maybe—I’d be the one to finally bring Flora’s secrets to light. Or, perhaps, I’d simply disappear into its shadows, another unfortunate soul lost to the madness of Alchopya’s world.

There’s something about the most terrifying places that call to me. Maybe it’s the need to understand what others fear. Maybe it’s because I belong there.(less)

The Weeping Man of St. Agnes Cemetery1972

By Thomas Miller

The night was so black it felt like the sky had died.Giles Blumenthal walked the rows of St. Agnes Cemetery with the slow, shuffling gait of a man who had already outlived his own heart. Six-foot-three and thin as a winter branch, pale skin glowing faintly under the moon, black hair hanging in damp strings across his fac Read more of this blog post »

Thomas Miller shared a quote
“Thomas’s fear of fatherhood was not just the fear of financial failure, but a profound fear of repeating the cycle of misery he had lived through. In his mind, leaving this world was the only way to save his child from the life he had known—a life filled with disappointment, sorrow, and inadequacy.”
