Peter Cotton grew up in England, and graduated as a doctor in 1963 from Cambridge University and St. Thomas Hospital Medical School (London). He worked as a Professor in London, then moved to USA to Duke University and in 1994 to Charleston, South Carolina to initiate the Digestive Disease Center at the Medical University. Peter has been active in many National and International organizations and has given invited lectures and demonstrations in over 50 countries. His bibliography includes more than 900 medical publications and 11 medical textbooks.
His stories about Fred the snake started as a bedtime story for his kids to remind them how (not) to cross the road. When they had their kids, they asked “what happened to Fred-Fred”. Peter found ...more

Peter Cotton added a status update: My 10th book "When Fred the snake and friends learn the Chinese Zodiac" explains how the traditional Chinese calendar was derived from the Great Race by the order in which twelve animals reach the Jade Emperor at the Heavenly Gate. Fred, Perdy and Jack learn all about it from their new Chinese school friends, Connor and Ellie. All good fun, ending up with a Chinese feast and a Dragon dance
