You Were Made to Be the Exception
The world will try to place you in bubbles so it can understand you.
It will name you, label you, and draw borders around your brilliance—
not because it wants to see you clearly,
but because it fears what it cannot define.
Don’t let it.
You were not created to be contained.
You were not born to fit within someone else’s comfort.
You were born to evolve, to expand, to become.
Dream beyond the edges of what you think is possible.
Grow into more than you ever imagined.
Let your becoming be messy, defiant, and wild.
Because in this world, people will try to simplify you
so they can make sense of you—
but your complexity is not a flaw.
It’s your masterpiece.
Say no. Say screw it.
Be too much, too bright, too everything.
Refuse to shrink just to make others comfortable.
You weren’t made to be understood.
You were made to be the exception.
And when you finally stop asking to be explained,
you’ll realize—
you were never meant to fit.
You were meant to change the shape of the world around you.

Interview with The Nora Theory
I recently had the opportunity to sit down with The Nora Theory for an in-depth interview about Tower of Ash and Darkness — and it turned into one of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had since releasing the book. Olivia and I spoke about the real-life experiences that shaped my writing, the way trauma often becomes the quiet heartbeat beneath fantasy, and how love, power, and pain intertwine through my characters.
She asked the kind of questions that linger long after the conversation ends — the ones that make you pause and look at your own story differently.
