Josh Jensen was thirteen when a murder rocked his hometown of Payson, Utah. The case stuck with him, planting the seed for a modern thriller with a Western soul set in his home state. That idea became his first novel — No Easy Way Back which went on to win a 2025 Best Indie Book Award (BIBA) in the action category.

These days, Josh balances a marketing career with coaching wrestling and escapes into the mountains whenever he can. Utah is home, and always will be.

“I wrote The Lord of the Rings because I wished ‘to try my hand at a really long story that would hold the attention of readers, amuse them, delight them, and at times maybe excite them or deeply move them.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien

J.R.R. Tolkien
“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

J.R.R. Tolkien
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
