Southern Festival of Books

October means the Southern Festival of Books, the biggest, most important literary event in Nashville! Over 20,00 book lovers are expected to attend, October 12-14, downtown. Authors from all over the U.S. will be presenting.

I’ll be on one of the panels with other Sisters in Crime writers. Our topic is “Misadventures in Mystery,” the lengths to which a crime writer will go for realism and research. I’m sure Lisa Wysocky, Kelly Oliver, and Karen Robards have had a few misadventures, as have I! It’s always fun to get together with the Sisters (and Misters).

Our panel is Saturday, October 13, 2 pm at the Nashville Main Library’s Banner Room.

For more about the SFB, information on authors, and the schedule, visit www.humanitiestennessee.org/programs/...

It’s free, it’s fun, and you may get to see the next great American writer!

Invited to “Today in Nashville”

Alana White and I will be on “Today in Nashville,” WSMV Channel 4, sometime during the 11-12 a.m. show on October 3, talking about the Southern Festival of Books. It’s the 30th anniversary of the Festival, and Alana has never missed! I’ve missed only a couple of years. We’re excited to share our experiences as writers who have attended – and benefitted from – the Festival, and we will probably get a chance to show our books! Tune in!
