I would like to thank everyone who has purchased "The Simple Habits of Happy People: How to Go from Sad to Glad in 21 Days or Less." If you've never peeked at the book, please take a look here or on Amazon.(less)

You don't need someone else's permission to be a writer. You can give yourself permission.

You MUST have a serious source of income. Do not expect to support yourself through your writing, and don't make the mistake of thinking that you cannot write if you have a full-time job doing something else. Work full-time and find a way to write in the evening, on weekends, or during holidays. You WILL find a way.

It's wonderful to develop a relationship with an editor so that you can spend less time selling your work and more time creating your work. I write one article a month for a local magazine. Here's the way the system works: One of the owners of the magazine writes to me in e-mail and offers me an assignment. I accept the assignment, conduct an interview, and write the piece. I do not have to bother with query letters or outlines.
How did I get connected to the magazine? By responding to an add on CareerBuilder.

Good luck to you, my friend!(less)
