My newest book is out!
Death in Amsterdam: Based on a True StoryHello Everyone--
My new book, Death in Amsterdam, is now available on Kindle. Before you go ordering it, please note this book is not a paranormal romance. It's not a romance at all, in fact. It's narrative nonfiction, which is a fancy way of saying that most of the book is based on facts, but some of the passages are a product of my imagination.
If you have suffered a loss, have felt alone in the world, have known deep depression at some point in your life, or know a troubled young person who thinks no one understands what they are going through, then Death in Amsterdam may resonate with you.
I wrote this book with young women in mind. I have been surprised that two men have already reached out to me to tell me how much the book meant to them.
It's a departure for me. But it was something I had to do to honor someone very special.

Time is Love
I saw the movie Interstellar this weekend, and it really has me thinking about time. Being a time-travel author, I ponder such subjects when I'm out raking leaves.
Seeing time portrayed as crystalline made sense to me. What if time WERE a crystal in its most visible form? But we can't see it. The only phase of time we can see is its gas form. So we never consider time as anything tangible. It just is--like air.
If our world stayed below 32 degrees, we would never know water existed. Perhaps because of our emotional temperature or lack of perception, we don't see the liquid and solid forms of time. But they could be there, all around us. Isn't that a mind-blowing thought?
Perhaps the beings we call spirits are so emotionally charged for one reason or another that they cause time to reach the liquid state. That's why we can see them at certain times. Or perhaps the viewer is a seer—a person gifted with perceptions far keener than most of us. Or perhaps, like me, the viewer has lost someone very dear to them and is intent on making a connection.
It really has me thinking. Could a strong emotion such as love be the key to time travel? Quite possibly!

Off to Seattle
I'm off to Seattle today. Seattle is one of my favorite settings for a novel. The rain and fir-covered shores of Puget Sound inspire the paranormal writer in me! I fell in love with Seattle the moment I saw Lake Washington in 1978, from the cockpit of a small plane flying in from Spokane. There's no place like it!
Seattle is the star of many of my earlier novels: Whisper of Midnight, Raven in Amber, The Haunting of Brier Rose, The Legacy, Mystic Moon and Just Before Midnight.

Dark Horse Audio Book
I'm thrilled to announce that production has wrapped up for Dark Horse, and it will soon be available at Audible and iTunes.
In producing this book, I realized I will never upload a digital version of a book unless I read through it for the audio version. I couldn't believe how many typos I found!
Here's the Fabulous Writing Tip for my writer friends!
