Heading back to my ROOTS!

Pre-orders for Uprooted Are Live Thursday—and I'm Heading Back to the Bush next week!

This Thursday marks an exciting milestone: pre-orders for my debut novel, Uprooted, officially go live! I can hardly believe this day is finally here.

When I first began writing Uprooted, I had the idea of returning to tree planting after fifteen years away, mostly to take photos (I'm a photographer by trade) and remind myself of the gritty, rewarding experience. Initially, I figured I'd be heading back for just two weeks—a quick trip, nothing major.

But life had other plans.

I posted that casual Instagram reel about returning to tree planting at 41, and before I knew it, the video went viral, hitting over 1.7 million views on social media. Suddenly, two weeks became a full commitment, and now I'm officially one week away from heading up to Slave Lake, Alberta, to plant trees once again.

It's surreal, exciting, and a little terrifying. This adventure is not just about revisiting my past, but fully immersing myself in the world that inspired Soleil and Gabe’s story in Uprooted. With each tree I plant, I'm reconnecting with the roots of my story, testing my limits, and hopefully bringing authenticity and depth to my readers.

Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm and support. Pre-orders open this Thursday—don't forget to snag your copy and join me on this wild journey!

Wish me luck, and follow along for updates from the bush!
