I’m a 43-year-old mother of two young adults, married for over two decades. I started as a beauty school dropout—then a graduate—and have worked across four industries and run my own business. At 38, I earned my finance degree, followed by an MBA, and along the way, I picked up a Project Management Professional certification and became a real estate broker. In other words, I’m an everyday American with a not-so-everyday range of experiences.

I’m writing this book because I know what it’s like to be in the trenches—juggling careers, family, and the realities of an economy that isn’t built for the average person. But I’ve also had the education and opportunities to peek behind the curtain and see how things really work.
