A map of Aborea
In the Royal Library of Magehall there are many treasures, some well- known and some hidden. One of the more well-known, at least among the somewhat educated, is the Map Repository, where maps dating from before the Unification, and even back to the Age of the Great Dragons, can be found (Certain scholars have even mentioned the possible existence of maps depicting non-human realms from before the Elven Fratricide, although said scholars have been punished accordingly, as is to be expected).

Frostfall is out!
Frostfall, my first epic fantasy, is out in electronic format on all the major retailers! This book took me a long time, both to write and edit, but the final result is something I am very proud of.
It is not just that it took a long time writing and editing it; it took me a long time before I was ready for it. That may sound strange to you, but that’s how it is. It took me years of writing, including full-time, and ten novels, before I could say to myself, this is what I am going to do next,...

Frostfall – Final preview
In this final preview, we once again get to meet fourteen-year-old Ben (fourteen and a half, as he would put it). He and James and the twins are on their way to Amberfield. Then something happens. Something that will turn their world, and that of all of Aborea, upside down. From this moment, nothing will ever be the same again…
The ambush came as the path narrowed between dense wood and a steep hill, nearly halfway between Northguard and Amberfield. The first arrow pierced Jarwis through the ...
Frostfall – Sixth preview
Okay, have you followed these posts so far? It’s time for the sixth preview, and we’re getting closer… The book will be out in a few days…
Today we listen in on a conversation between James Frost, the heir of Northguard, and his tutor, Master Thomas, as they grapple with an old question; Where does a ruler’s legitimacy come from?
“So, why do we count House Covington among the great houses if they no longer hold any lands on this side of the ocean?” Master Thomas asked. James thought for a...

Frostfall – Fifth preview
Moving on… Today we meet Ben and James as they practice swordsmanship under the keen eye of Sir Dalton, Northguard’s master-at-arms. James is the heir and future lord of Northguard, while Ben dreams of one day becoming a knight. Today they learn a lesson, although I’m not quite sure the lesson is actually… learned…
Ben saw the strike coming, and parried easily, before making a double thrust false attack, then swirled and placed his sword at the neck of the opponent.
“Got you!” he said, gri...

Frostfall – Fourth preview
I don’t know how many are reading these, but nevertheless, I want the all the previews to be available here on this site, not just on Facebook. So, today I want you to meet Rhea, twin sister to Tor, who appeared in the second preview. Today both must face their father, Lord Richard Frost, and apologize for their mischief…
Rhea stood quietly, staring at her feet, awaiting her father’s judgment. James was going to Amberfield tomorrow, to speak to the lord there, Aaron Thorne. James had done tha...

Frostfall – Third preview
So, I have another preview for you from Frostfall, and today we meet Aurora (yes, a small reference to my sci-fi books). Hope you enjoy it!
Aurora had always liked the gardens. She used to go out here to read and to think. She found that everywhere else was always crowded, or shed be disturbed. Here one could find solitude. Aurora found the natural sounds of birds and squirrels, and the bubbling of water from the springs or the little brook was actually better for reading than the complete...

Frostfall – Second preview
So, I hope you enjoyed the first preview. Today, I have another one for you!
In this scene, we meet Torjus Frost, a boy of nine, as he discovers the first snow of the season has fallen. And, naturally, he does what any boy of nine would do; he finds a way to bother his older sister
Tor skipped out into the near-empty courtyard and giggled at the fresh snow that had fallen in the night. It was still early fall, and he knew there would be a while until the snow lasted more than a few early...

Writing Sci-fi and Fantasy
Eight years ago I began writing what would become my first published novel, Exodus. Since then I have written and published ten novels, a number of short stories and novellas, along with a few collections. And right now I’m working on two very different novels, both of which I hope to be able to publish this year.
One is a science fiction based in the Aurora Universe, which takes place after both the Exodus Trilogy and the Rift Saga, and its working title is Children of Aurora. It’s been a fe...
