I am a historical fiction writer and 17th Century enthusiast, with a particular interest in the English Civil War (ECW). I blog about English history and storytelling at my blog, the 17th Century Enthusiast, and I'm a co-editor of the English Historical Fiction Authors blog site.

This took me some time to get into it- the 2nd person POV took me time to get used to-but I’m really glad I stuck with it. Excellent story with multiple layers.

I really enjoyed this one - loved the characters and the adventure and the author made the early 17th century come alive.

I’m in the minority given the GR award and maybe it wasn’t the right time for me to read this but I lost interest about half way in. The quest for the book had too many plot holes that I couldn’t get past. I also couldn’t connect with the characters.

I loved this so much that I’m queuing up book 2 and sourcing out his other series. The mystery had me guessing and it was tightly plotted. Loved both Ana and Din (especially Ana with her quirkiness). Can’t wait to read more with these characters.
