Lesfic Bard Romance winner!
I am absolutely delighted to announce that Swiping Right (and other disasters) has won the Lesfic Bard Romance Award this week!
I love writing happy endings for sapphic folk, so to win an award for this particular book is a real treat. Swiping Right was a labour of love. Due to parenting and all sorts of life events, I hadn't published anything for a few years. It was the start of a new adventure for me in writing. It came out in July 2024 and became the start of a series, dedicated to women starting over.
The Second Chance Chronicles are standalone romantic comedies that exist in the same universe. They focus on women in midlife, who might be coming out later, or starting over following divorce or another life event. I am passionate about this series because I am a woman in my 40s who did just that, but I didn't see women like me in fiction. So I wrote them!
Cut to October this year, and I entered the Lesfic Bard Awards and forgot all about it. Early in 2025 I released Don't Fall in Love (and how to break the rules), about an old flame coming back into someone's life at work. And so I wasn't focused on the awards at all - until I was innocently eating my breakfast and saw the announcement last weekend. I was thrilled!
For now, I'm focusing on book 3 in the series, Faking It (and falling in love), which comes out on Thursday 26th June. I can't wait to share this one with you - all about Philippa, who comes out later in life and accidentally ends up fake dating a hot mess.
If you'd like to find out more, do join my mailing list, where you'll also receive a free sapphic short story!
